Amelia Mora Mars is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Westlake Village specializing in teens and adults impacted by adverse childhood experiences and sexual trauma, a significant loss or traumatic event that has disrupted their sense of safety and stability. First responders and military personnel also hold a soft spot in Amelia’s heart as a mother to two daughters in law enforcement and a son in the Army.
Amelia understands that feelings of shame, guilt, and unworthiness often result from the emotional pain caused by a traumatic history. Common conditions arise as a reaction to traumatic events, such as anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, phobias, mood disorders, substance, eating disorders, and health problems.
Amelia knows how scary and overwhelming seeking help can be. While sharing a suite with Dr. Bhasin, his patients would share their stories about what led them to ketamine treatment and how treatment had transformed their lives. In 2017, when her 17-year-old son on the autism spectrum attempted suicide, she did not hesitate to seek ketamine treatment. Her son, Kenny, a sweet and compassionate soul who now loves his life, generously shares his ketamine journey as the Featured Patient; click here. (https://pointketamine.com/featured-patient/).
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) optimizes the medication to get below the surface and disrupt negative thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that keep patients stuck. KAP is a powerful practice that can accelerate your healing journey by going inward to explore the profound truths hidden, waiting to be unearthed, witnessed, and released. In our work together, you can expect a holistic, research-based approach to help you heal in a warm, safe, and judgment-free environment. Amelia is committed to assisting families to find hope and peace and considers it a privilege to accompany patients on their ketamine journey.
Amelia enjoys the ocean’s serenity, spending time with family, and her two doodles. She also serves as a Board Member for Childhood Matters, a non-profit organization that supports and nurtures childhood mental health.
