Be it small or chronic, any kind of pain is a signal, and we must start addressing it, rather than covering and ignoring the same. You will only be able to cure it when you fully understand your pain and the reason behind its occurrence. So, stop ignoring and masking your symptoms and start using them as your information to solve the problem. Instead of repelling your pain and creating your suffering, it would be sensible to learn to accept your authentic self—your experience of who you are and what you are struggling with. While doing this, you can develop self-acceptance and self-compassion.

The first step towards treating any pain is the acceptance of it. It would be best if you accepted it in a way to deal with it. And then treat the cause, not the symptoms. It’s true that pain brings incredible sadness with itself. Today in this chaotic lifestyle, we all struggle to find happiness, and for the same, we seek therapy and meet different counselors. Our pursuit of happiness never ends. The first step towards finding happiness is to recognize your pain and accept it. Certainly, pain isn’t enjoyable, but relief from pain is. According to various studies and reports, when the pain fades away, you experience increased happiness. Long-standing pain makes you enjoy your rewards more.

Pain demands to be felt! Pain captures your attention and demands your acceptance. To nurse the pain, we need to discern the wounds and feel the pain. There’s an old saying, and it holds today also, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” Happiness isn’t the inexistence of pain. Instead, the secret to leading a happier life involves believing you have enough mental strength to embrace your pain and learn from it.
