When the word personal development pops up, our culture signals those who are self-assured or self-confident. Self-compassion may be a foreign concept for many of us but it is a better way to approach success related to personal development.

For many of us, the journey of life we live is different. Rather than spending time with a person, we spend more time with our inner voice which is inside our heads. And sometimes the connection which we share with our inner voice is not so positive.

Self-compassion is the way to understand that there is always a scope to learn and grow from your mistake. Even it is also beneficial for better health, a strong mind, and general well-being. Research has observed that people who consist of higher self-compassion also have lower levels of anxiety and depression.

The power of learning to forgive and nurture yourself has abundant benefits. Several strategies have been promoted and a training program has been developed to cultivate people their own self-compassion-

  • Your health – Always eat healthy, exercise, lie down and take rest. Anything which you think can improve your physical well-being will provide you a dose of self-compassion.
  • Write a letter to yourself -Think of any situation that caused you to feel pain for example a breakup, loss of a job, poor performance at work, etc. Write a letter to yourself or a diary express your feeling without blaming anyone. You can use this exercise to nurture your thoughts.
  • Encourage yourself – Motivate yourself and your mind that you can face any difficult situation. Never do overthink, seat relax, and face the situation with calmness. Encouragement leads to compassionate responses towards yourself.
  • Mindfulness – Meditation is a very effective exercise for self-compassion. It is a great way to treat and nurture ourselves when we are in pain. It is a relaxed state of mind where we tend to forget all our stress and anxiety.

Self-compassion is the way where you feel better and confident about your abilities. This is the way of living a positive and happy life.
